David Meltzer - Photographer

David Meltzer, M. D., a Photographer and Psychiatrist who found “Photography” as his passion sixty years ago. With the Kodak folding camera his dad purchased for him, then as now he was fascinated with the way it opened and closed the black bellows, the clear lens, the sharp click of the shutter and the optical viewfinder.

“The imagery I am drawn is the elegant beauty of the simple objects that surround us. I find myself photographing everyday objects that most don’t see as worthy of artistic energy. I photograph them as bold pieces of art juxtaposed to the world. The photographs that “work for me” expose dialectic between the wilder contexts of the conceptual focus and the narrowest of views into an essential core.”
